I just re-confirmed with JFA, and I missed the point: the WG re-org is not the trigger here, it's the change of affiliation. And it's not a case of "may" change his ability to serve as editor, it very much does change his status, because of all sorts of reasons that basically add up to: W3C is comprised of member organizations -- companies -- and not individuals. I'm afraid I have to ask Tim to step down an be explicitly reconfirmed as editor by the ERB. I'll try to reach you Monday to chat about this.
